Kristin Key

Kristin Key seems like any other sweet, sexy, well-behaved preacher’s daughter…until she opens her mouth. Her fearless style of comedy has earned her the title “Preacher’s Kid Gone Wild,” and after starting her stand-up career at age 19, she quickly became one of the youngest comedy club headliners in the country.
One winter night in 2006,she auditioned for the NBC reality/comedy show “Last Comic Standing.” in Austin, TX at the Capital City Comedy Club. "I showed up at 4:30 in the morning, and waited 7 hours just to get seen." says Key.
For her, the long wait certainly paid off. On May 30th, Key, 25, not only made her national television debut on the show, but also got the judges' nod to move to the next level, the semi-finals held in Los Angeles, California. She then moved on to “the house” – actually, the former liner The Queen Mary, where she joined the other finalists in an elimination contest that saw her continue her run for 5 more weeks.
Kristin Key was born in Aurora, Missouri, raised in Liberal, Kansas, and lived in Amarillo, Texas, until moving recently to San Marcos, Texas. She had always wanted to try comedy, but didn’t know anything about it, adding “I didn’t see my first live comedy show until I did my first open mic.”

That first open mic took place at the now-closed Amarillo Comedy Club which supported her career for six years and ended with the passing of co-owner and comic Kelly Moran, the former piano player at Hollywood’s famed Comedy Store. "Kelly was my mentor. He was there my first open mic night, and put it in my head that being a comic was something more than just a silly dream.."
To Kristin, nothing is off limits and no two shows are alike. She covers everything from personal stories to the top four questions you should never ask a hermaphrodite. In three words, she's flat-out funny; not just "for a girl funny"- just funny.
Kristin Key now lives in Los Angeles, CA, where she is pursuing her dreams of performing in TV and movies, as well as continuing to tour the U.S. as a comedy club and college headliner.
She has recently been heard on XM Radio 150 Comedy Channel and National Lampoon Radio, and appeared on the “TV Guide Channel” and VH-1’s “Big in ’06.” She has a commercially-produced nationally-distributed CD, “Buckle Up” (Uproar Records) and
she is also a regular contributor to “Life & Style” magazine. Her second CD for Uproar, with all new material, is currently in production, and will be released in early 2010.
